Sheriff Knight introduced the Selective Enforcement Team (SET) to the county about four years ago. The team was started by taking its members from Narcotics, Patrol, Detectives, and K9. They will move from location to location around the county, sometimes hour by hour. Their objective is to flood an area where we may have experienced an uptick in crime or where we have received complaints from citizens of criminal or suspicious activity. This team now has five members including one K9 unit. It has been targeted to increase with one more deputy. The mission of the Selective Enforcement Team is to create cooperation with county residents through improved relationships via goodwill. The goal is to increase targeting of criminal activity through intelligence gathering and community involvement.
